What does this straw cleaner brush set clean?

This set gives you 10 straw cleaner brushes in mixed diameters, each about 8.2 in (21 cm) long, so you can match a brush to each straw, spout or narrow tube in your kitchen. The handles are bendable 304 stainless steel wire with nylon bristles, and a detachable ring keeps all ten together.

Typical jobs: reusable metal, glass and hard plastic straws; tumbler straws; water bottle lids and spouts; sippy cup valves; the narrow parts of baby bottles; and other small tubes around the house.

Why mixed sizes matter

A brush only scrubs where its bristles touch the wall. Too thin, and it slides through without cleaning; too thick, and it jams or flattens its bristles. With several diameters on one ring, you pick the one that goes in snugly and still turns. We don't list an exact diameter for each brush, so test the fit in your narrowest straw first.

How to clean a reusable straw

  1. Rinse the straw right after use so smoothie or coffee residue doesn't dry inside.
  2. Choose a brush that fits snugly, add a drop of dish soap and push it through from one end.
  3. Twist as you pull back so the bristles sweep the whole wall, then repeat from the other end.
  4. Rinse the straw and the brush under running water.
  5. Hang the brushes by the ring or hanging hole to dry.

For bent straws and curved drink paths, shape the wire into a gentle arc before you feed it in, then straighten it afterward. Avoid sharp kinks, which weaken any wire handle over time.

Long reach for tall tumblers and bottles

At about 8.2 in, each brush reaches into deep bottle necks, lid channels and spouts that a short sink brush can't. Working from both ends of a long tumbler straw lets one brush clean a straw much longer than the brush itself.

What this set is not

These are narrow tube brushes, not a full bottle brush. To scrub the inside of a whole water bottle, jar or baby bottle, use a wider bottle brush and keep this set for straws, spouts and valves. The medium-firm nylon bristles suit plastic, glass, metal and silicone surfaces.

If you keep reusable straws in tumblers, silicone flower straw toppers cover the tip between sips, and our straw toppers and tumbler basics guide covers cleaning and fit. More sink-side helpers are in kitchen and baking.

Frequently asked questions

What sizes are in the set?

Ten brushes in mixed diameters, each about 8.2 in long. Exact diameters aren't listed, so test a few in your narrowest straw; the right one goes in snugly and still turns.

Will these clean a baby bottle?

They clean the narrow parts, such as small openings and tubes. For the full inside of a bottle or jar, use a wider bottle brush.

Can the brushes bend for curved straws?

Yes. The 304 stainless steel wire handles bend, so you can shape a brush to follow a bent straw or a curved drink path. Straighten it again after use.

Are they long enough for tumbler straws?

Each brush is about 8.2 in long. For a long tumbler straw, push the brush in from one end, then the other, and the two passes cover the full length.

Can I use them for droppers and other small tubes?

They are made for narrow tubes, so many small spouts and tubes work. For a very fine dropper, try the thinnest brush first, since exact diameters aren't listed.

What are the brushes made of?

Bendable 304 stainless steel wire handles with medium-firm nylon bristles, suitable for plastic, glass, metal and silicone.

How do I store them?

Keep all ten on the detachable storage ring and hang it from a hook by the sink, or drop the set in a drawer or travel bag.
