One 22 in (56 cm) bloodshot-eyeball foil balloon for Halloween scenes, filled with air for a placed or hung display or with helium to float.

  • One 22 in (56 cm) round foil balloon, sold singly, not a multipack
  • Bloodshot design: white eye, orange-red iris, black pupil, red veins
  • Air fill for hanging or placing; helium fill for a floating display
  • Inflate slowly to about 80–90% full and stop before it's drum-tight
  • Outdoors only when firmly secured; bring it in for wind or rain

What is the Halloween eyeball balloon?

The Halloween eyeball balloon is a single 22 in (56 cm) round foil balloon printed as a bloodshot eye: a white ball with an orange-red iris, a black pupil and red vein lines. Because it is one large eye rather than a bag of small ones, it works best as the focal point of a scene, the thing guests notice first in a doorway, a haunted hallway or a photo backdrop.

The package holds one balloon. Other decorations shown in display photos are not included.

Should you fill it with air or helium?

Both work. They just give you different displays.

  • Air: the eye will not float. Use air when you want to set it on a shelf, wedge it into a corner, or hang it from a hook or doorframe with your own string.
  • Helium: the eye floats, which suits a hovering eyeball over a snack table or at the end of a dark hallway. Tie it to a weight so it stays where you put it.

Either way, fill slowly and stop at about 80–90% full, when the surface looks smooth but still has a little give. Foil does not stretch the way latex does, so overfilling can split a seam. Our foil vs latex balloon guide explains how the two materials behave and how long each tends to last.

How big is a 22 in eyeball in a room?

At 22 in across, the eye is a little more than half the width of a standard 36 in interior door. That is large enough to read clearly from across a room, or from the sidewalk when it hangs on a porch. Indoors, one eye fills a corner, the top of a doorframe or the center of a photo wall.

Can it go outside?

Yes, with care. Put it on a porch, in a tree or in the yard only when it is firmly tied or anchored, and bring it inside when wind, rain or rough weather arrives. We don't list a weather rating or a float time, so treat it as a short-term display and check on it each day.

Foil balloons conduct electricity. Keep metallic balloons weighted or tied down, never release them outdoors, and keep them well away from overhead power lines.

How do you build a scene around one eye?

  • Stretch a cobweb behind or around it so the eye looks caught in the web. Our stretch spider web decoration covers about 10 sq ft, enough for a corner or doorway.
  • Light it from below with a small LED lamp or flashlight for a stronger glare in photos.
  • Add a prop guests can hold, such as a reaper scythe or a witch hat, so the photo corner has something to do.

Who should skip it?

If you want a pile of small eyeballs for a bowl or a garland, this single large balloon is not that. It is also a decoration, not a toy. Uninflated and broken balloons are a choking hazard for children, so an adult should handle inflation, keep uninflated balloons out of reach, and throw away any broken pieces right away.

Frequently asked questions

Does the eyeball balloon float if I fill it with air?

No. Only helium makes it float. With air, it holds its shape for setting on a shelf or hanging from a hook or doorframe with your own string.

How many eyeball balloons come in the package?

One. This is a single 22 in foil balloon, not a multipack, and the other decorations in display photos are not included.

How big is the eyeball once inflated?

About 22 in (56 cm) across, a little more than half the width of a standard interior door. One eye is big enough to anchor a doorway, corner or photo wall on its own.

How full should I inflate it?

Fill slowly to about 80–90%, so the surface is smooth but still has a little give. Foil does not stretch, so going past that point can split a seam.

Can I leave it on the porch all week?

Only if it is firmly secured, and bring it in whenever wind, rain or rough weather comes through. We don't list a weather rating, so check it daily and keep it away from power lines.

How long will it float with helium?

We don't publish a float time. Helium time depends on how full the balloon is, the temperature and how it is handled, so fill it as close to the event as you can.

Is it safe for kids to play with?

It is a decoration, not a toy. Uninflated or broken balloons can be a choking hazard, so an adult should inflate it, keep uninflated balloons out of reach and throw away broken pieces right away.
