What does this Halloween flashlight do?

It's a kids' projector flashlight. Fit one of the 5 picture caps on the head, switch it on, and it shows a Halloween image on a wall or ceiling: a ghost, a pumpkin, a spider, a skull or a bat. Change the cap to change the picture, one at a time. The pack holds 1 flashlight and 5 caps; the caps are picture choices, not extra flashlights.

Size, power and what's in the pack

Buy the batteries along with the flashlight so it's ready on the day. Take them out before you pack it away after Halloween, since old batteries left in a toy for months can leak.

How to get a clear picture

As with any flashlight projector, the image shows up best in a dark room on a plain, light-colored wall or ceiling. Moving closer to the wall makes the picture smaller and brighter; stepping back makes it bigger and dimmer. It's a fun add-on for bedtime stories, sleepovers or a guessing game where kids call out each shape as it appears.

Is it a trick-or-treat safety light?

No. It's a handheld toy sized for indoor picture play, not a light designed to help kids see or be seen outdoors at night. For trick-or-treating, use a regular flashlight and the usual after-dark precautions, such as reflective tape on costumes, and keep this one for the fun at home.

Care and storage

Wipe the flashlight and caps with a dry cloth. Keep the lens side of each cap free of fingerprints for a crisper picture, and store everything together, batteries out, in a small box.
