How to help kids get comfortable wearing fangs

Anything in the mouth feels odd at first, so practice before the big night. A few minutes of wear at home lets your child find out how it feels to talk and smile with the fangs in. A practical routine is to wear them for photos, the costume parade and each doorstep, then take them out in between.

• Keep a small clean bag or container in a pocket so the fangs have somewhere to go when they come out.

Care and storage

Rinse the fangs in cool water with a drop of mild soap, shake off the water and let them air-dry before storing. Hot water can soften or warp thin plastic, so skip it. Keep them in a clean zip bag with your costume so they're ready next year.
