This long fake nose measures 6.29 in (16 cm) from base to tip, with a 1.77 in (4.5 cm) base that sits over your own nose. It tapers to a rounded tip and stays on with an elastic strap behind the head, so you don't need spirit gum or any other adhesive. The shape is fixed: it does not grow or extend.

Which costumes is a long fake nose for?

The classic use is Pinocchio, the wooden puppet from the original storybook, whether for a school play, a Halloween costume or a photo booth. How do you get a good fit?

1. Try it on a few days before the event, not on the night.
2. Seat the base over your nose and run the strap above your ears to the back of your head.
3. Check that it doesn't press too hard; strap pressure varies with head size.
4. Rehearse what you'll do in costume: turning your head, walking through doorways and saying your lines.

Take the nose off to eat or drink, and remove it if it feels tight or uncomfortable rather than planning on wearing it for hours. Kids can wear it with an adult supervising and after a trial fitting.

Storage

Store the nose in a box so the long tip isn't crushed or bent, and keep it away from heat. Loosen the strap rather than stretching it hard when you take it off.
